What do you tuck into first thing in the morning? Apparently your choice of breakfast reveals if you’re a high-earner, good in bed, a good friend or a bit of a party animal
Most of us have had the phrase “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” drilled into us our entire lives, but what does your first plate say about you?
Apparently whether you opt for a super green smoothie, a bowl of cereal or a piece of toast gives an insight into your personality – and it can be very revealing.
According to new research by Weetabix, those who eat peanut butter each morning are the most passionate lovers.
But if you reach for the Marmite instead, you’re more likely to be well-read, while those who just have a cup of tea are more likely to earn a lot of money.
Weetabix asked 2,000 British adults to describe their biggest personality traits, and then compared it to what they had for breakfast most days.
The highest number of people who identify as “bohemian” are partial to a pain-au-chocolat in the morning, whereas those who drink just a cup of tea are likely to be high earners – we’re talking an annual salary of over £100,000.
If you are a lover of French toast, the chances are you think of yourself as a party animal, whereas those who’d rather just eat a banana, are most likely to describe themselves as stressed out.
People who eat Marmite are more likely to be well-read, and people who eat a bowl of cereal are deemed most trustworthy by their friends and family.
Yoghurt and berries is the breakfast of choice for those who consider themselves emotional, while those well-travelled among us choose to rustle up a smashed avocado on sourdough.
According to the study, 53 per cent of Brits agree that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and 42 percent secretly judge people on what they eat.
Yet 33 percent said they simply cannot function without something to eat in the morning, and 17 percent rely on coffee to get them through.
A quarter of Brits often skip breakfast, with 42 per cent saying they don’t have time in the morning.
When it comes to boring breakfasts, 39 per cent said dry toast is the most disappointing, 32 per cent opted for a brown banana and 28 per cent said cereal with no milk because you ran out was depressing.
Over a third, 35 per cent, of those polled said a healthy breakfast was important to them, while 20 percent feel they are stuck in a breakfast rut, eating the same thing every day.
